What the fine print shows
Empower Pharmacy is a dispensing decision rather than a ready-made medical membership. Its patient instructions start with an appointment with your own provider, followed by a prescription sent to the pharmacy. That distinction matters if you arrived looking for a service that includes an assessment, medication and follow-up in one bill. The pharmacy's catalog does not establish that package. Use the provider checklist to separate the prescriber, dispenser and charges before comparing Empower with a clinic such as Strut Health.
The relevant patient pharmacy is Empower Clinic Services, doing business as Empower Pharmacy, at 7601 North Sam Houston Parkway West, Suite 100, in Houston. Texas lists license 26444 as Active, with its expiration shown on the linked record, and classifies it as a community sterile-compounding pharmacy. A second Empower record at Suite 200 is a central-processing pharmacy. Neither the shared brand nor adjacent suites makes those records interchangeable. Match the actual dispensing label to the business, address and relevant permission; do not use the status of one facility to answer a question about another.
A state license and an FDA inspection record answer different questions. FDA's warning letter numbered 738238 names the Suite 100 pharmacy. It describes concerns about compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide meeting the conditions for exemptions, as well as sterile-production practices. FDA assessed some corrective actions as adequate while finding others deficient or insufficiently documented. The letter is a material part of a pharmacy decision, but it is not a notice that every Empower product is unlawful or that the pharmacy is closed. The pharmacy guide explains why facility identity and the preparation both matter.
The cited FDA materials do not link a closeout for letter 738238. Subsequent interactions may change a regulatory matter without immediately appearing on those pages. A separate outsourcing-register entry for Empower Pharma in Houston lists a response letter; it should not be described as closing the later Suite 100 letter. Registration as an outsourcing facility also does not approve a compounded finished medicine. Ask which operation would prepare the proposed prescription and what current information the prescriber and pharmacist can provide about the specific concerns.
Florida illustrates why a single badge is insufficient. The same Suite 100 pharmacy has a nonresident pharmacy record and a separate nonresident sterile-compounding record, both showing Clear with their expiration dates shown on the linked records. The sterile record also lists discipline and a public complaint under case 202303021. Its action tab marks the disciplinary obligations satisfied and shows no emergency action. The underlying order was not available through a scanned case link there, so its allegations should not be guessed. Neither hiding that history nor presenting satisfied obligations as a current suspension gives a reader an accurate account.
The current catalog identifies patient-specific compounded semaglutide with cyanocobalamin as an injection, semaglutide with methylcobalamin as an orally disintegrating tablet, tirzepatide with niacinamide as an injection, and tirzepatide as an orally disintegrating tablet. Those are distinct preparations, not interchangeable versions of a brand name. The two oral product pages explicitly say those preparations have not undergone clinical trials. Rapid dissolution under the tongue does not establish equivalent absorption, outcomes or dose conversion. The prescription identity guide can help organize the formulation questions to take to the treating clinician.
Sermorelin acetate injection is also listed through the patient-specific pharmacy. A product listing establishes what is advertised, not whether a proposed use is appropriate for an individual or whether a preparation meets all applicable conditions. The listing does not turn an anti-aging claim into an approved indication. Obtain the actual prescription, proposed purpose, relevant evidence and monitoring plan from the clinician. An ingredient's history, a pharmacy's quality claim and an FDA-approved finished product are different kinds of information. None substitutes for an explanation of the preparation being offered to you.
Empower's FAQ says it requires a prescription to determine the price of a compounded product. That prevents a useful recurring-cost comparison from being made from the catalog alone. The complete quote needs the preparation, concentration, quantity, intended supply period, dispensing charge and shipping method. Add the outside prescriber's visit, testing and follow-up costs separately. The complete quote guide helps keep those items together. A published shipping fee is not a medication price, and a vial size cannot be divided into months without the actual prescribed directions and applicable use period.
After receiving a prescription, the pharmacy says it contacts the patient about information, payment and shipping. It does not automatically fill the prescription before receiving patient approval. It also says it does not automatically refill medication. That is useful separation between a prescription being sent and an order being filled, but it does not settle the cancellation rights for an order already authorized. Any membership with an outside prescriber has its own billing rules. Obtain the pharmacy's order status and the clinic's subscription status separately rather than assuming one cancellation controls both.
Returns are limited. The FAQ normally excludes returned products and says exceptional return or credit requests are investigated. It does not establish a general satisfaction guarantee or a precise public cutoff for canceling every unfilled order. Lost deliveries also trigger a carrier investigation, with replacement described conditionally on an available refill. Ask who pays for a replacement, what documentation is needed for a temperature concern, and how to reach the pharmacist promptly. Those questions are more useful than assuming an unopened prescription can be returned like an ordinary retail purchase.
Timing has several stages. The pharmacy's estimate for most orders to ship within three business days is separate from carrier transit, and compounding time can vary. Refrigerated prescriptions are described as shipping overnight Monday through Thursday. A clinician's submission, patient approval, preparation, dispatch and delivery can therefore fall on different dates. The site also uses both national-coverage and most-states language; office-use answers conflict about Mississippi. Obtain confirmation for the exact patient prescription and destination. Restrictions on bulk clinic supply should not silently become a rule about every patient-specific prescription.
The pharmacy's HIPAA notice names the dispensing entity, while its FAQ directs dispensing-record requests through ChartRequest. A referring clinic may hold a separate medical record and apply separate terms. Keep the prescription, pharmacy quote, label, shipping instructions and clinician contacts together. Empower may be relevant when a treating professional is considering a specific compounded prescription and can explain the dispensing choice. It is a poor substitute for comparing complete care programs when you still need a clinician, an established total price or a clear answer about the proposed preparation and the facility's current record.

Questions about Empower Pharmacy
- Does Empower include a prescribing appointment?
- The patient instructions direct you to your own provider for a prescription. An included consultation, testing package and ongoing clinical membership are not established.
- How much does a prescription cost?
- The pharmacy says a prescription is required to quote the product. Request the exact preparation, quantity, supply period and delivery charge, then add outside clinical costs separately.
- Are the oral GLP-1 tablets equivalent to approved injections?
- That equivalence is not established. The oral product pages identify compounded preparations and say they have not undergone clinical trials. Ask the clinician what evidence applies to the selected formulation.
- Will the pharmacy automatically refill medication?
- The FAQ says it does not automatically refill medications and requires patient approval for an initial fill. A referring clinic can have a separate billing agreement.
- Does a Clear license erase the Florida case history?
- No. The sterile-compounding record lists a case and marks the disciplinary obligations satisfied, alongside Clear status. Those facts must be considered together, without inventing a current suspension or the unviewed order’s allegations.
